Zach Cohen

Assistant Professor Adjunct

Zach Cohen is an architectural designer, researcher, and educator. His research and teaching examine the ways in which architects can use digital fabrication to reimagine both the immaterial and physical labor of architectural design. Zach has previously taught at MIT, City College, Pratt Institute, and The Ohio State University, where he was the Christos Yessios Visiting Assistant Professor from 2019 to 2021. Zach was also previously a Research Lead at the Self-Assembly Lab at MIT. In addition to teaching at Cooper Union, Zach is partner of the Brooklyn-based architectural design practice, commoncraft, and is co-editing a book on how architects conceptualize digital fabrication called "Homing the Machine."

Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
