Professor Susannah Drake's Project Presented During Urban Design Week 2011

Hybrid Urban Base (HUB) was selected as part of the By the City / For the City design competition in conjunction with Urban Design Week 2011.

Hybrid Urban Base (HUB) expands Anabel Basin to provide an integrated, productive, recreational (deleted comma) and ecological corridor linking neighborhoods to hydrological and transportation networks. HUB embraces tidal shifts along the water's edge, providing unique opportunities for observation of and interaction with the waterfront. Hierarchical (delete:water craft) waterways within the canal accommodate vessels ranging in scale from individual kayaks to commuter ferries. Access to HUB by public transportation is carefully designed to maximize intermodal efficiency and use.
