CHECK OUT CAREERS CONNECT

In addition to our robust career counseling services and diverse programmatic offerings, the Center for Career Development is committed to maintaining and continually enhancing Careers Connect, our internal career site designed specifically for current Cooper Union students. Careers Connect serves as a dynamic, evolving platform that centralizes vital career development information and makes it easily accessible to students at any point in their academic or professional journey.

More than just a job board, Careers Connect is a curated, student-focused resource hub. All of our career-related events, paid job opportunities, internships, and application deadlines are posted to the platform, ensuring students stay informed and engaged with real-time opportunities. But beyond event and job listings, Careers Connect also houses an extensive collection of tools, guides, and reference materials developed with Cooper students in mind.

One of Careers Connect key strengths lies in its customization. We understand that students in the School of Art, the School of Architecture, and the School of Engineering each face distinct professional paths and challenges. That’s why we’ve built out dedicated sections for each school, filled with targeted resources that reflect the unique demands and expectations of their respective fields.

  • School of Art
We offer a wide range of resources related to grants and fellowships, both domestic and international artist residency opportunities, and an extensive directory of New York City-based, medium-specific resources to support career development within and beyond the studio.

  • School of Architecture
You will find tailored content that includes support for licensure and certification pathways, an application for portfolio development and mentorship opportunities with alumni, and architecture-specific listings that help connect academic work with emerging professional trends.

  • School of Engineering
Students benefit from strategic resources focused on industry exploration, research opportunities, and pathways to both traditional and non-traditional career opportunities in STEM-related fields.

Across all disciplines, Careers Connect covers essential topics such as building and refining application materials—including resumes, cover letters, and portfolios—preparing for interviews, understanding the job search process, and navigating salary discussions with confidence. The platform is continuously reviewed and updated to ensure it reflects current industry standards, emerging trends, and the evolving needs of our student body.

Ultimately, Careers Connect is more than a digital resource—it's an extension of our office’s commitment to student success. It reflects our belief that career development is ongoing, multifaceted, and personal. By providing a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate platform tailored to the Cooper Union experience, we strive to empower students to take ownership of their futures with clarity, creativity, and confidence.

Beyond Cooper

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • “My feelings, my desires, my hopes, embrace humanity throughout the world,” Peter Cooper proclaimed in a speech in 1853. He looked forward to a time when, “knowledge shall cover the earth as waters cover the great deep.”

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
