Giving Day is right around the corner!  April 29th is our annual Giving Day and this year marks The Cooper Union's 165th anniversary. Your support matters! Donate today to make a difference for the school or program closest to your heart and the students who are benefiting from them today.

 

We are very excited to announce that every gift, no matter the size, will be MATCHED, thanks to the Edward Durbin $4 million matching gift. That means your investment in scholarships, student life, and learning at The Cooper Union will be doubled.
With our thanks, for gifts of $100 to $499, we will send you a 5x7 archival print of the image below. When you give $500 or more, you'll receive a 6x9 archival print, beautifully matted and ready for framing. We have a limited number of prints available, so give now to reserve yours!

Giving Day is a once-a-year event. On our 165th anniversary, especially, let's make sure it counts!
 

 


 

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • “My feelings, my desires, my hopes, embrace humanity throughout the world,” Peter Cooper proclaimed in a speech in 1853. He looked forward to a time when, “knowledge shall cover the earth as waters cover the great deep.”

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
