Liz Diller and Peggy Deamer Receive 2018 Women in Architecture Award

Cooper Alumni Liz Diller AR’79 and Peggy Deamer AR’77 are both recipients of 2018’s Women in Architecture Award from Architectural Record. The award, which was founded in 2014, recognizes design leadership across five categories and promotes the visibility and contributions of women to the field of architecture. Ms. Diller, a founding partner of New York-based firm, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, has won in the “Design Leader” category. Ms. Deamer, the founding principal of Deamer, Architects, has won in the “Activist” category. Fellow awardees include Lisa Iwamoto, Upali Nanda and Ellen Dunham-Jones. The awards will be celebrated in New York City this October.

Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
