The Albert Nerken School of Engineering mechanical engineering seniors share their capstone projects online

The eight 2021 projects include the development and design of sustainable shoes with swappable uppers and soles; a lightweight Mars Ascent Vehicle; specific HVAC recommendations for mitigating the airborne spread of COVID-19; and more. 

Voting for best project closed on May 11, 2021. "VOOV Shoes: A Step Towards Sustainability" was voted as Best Project Showcase by Community Votes and received the ME Design Prize; "Lightweight Mars Ascent Vehicle Design" received Best Poster and Best Paper Awards; and "Stopping the Spread: HVAC Controls for Mitigating COVID-19" received the Nicholas M. Stefano Prize (Best Senior Project).
