Max Fleischer A'1900, created Betty Boop character (1932), licensed Popeye The Sailor comic strip to produce the Popeye animated cartoons (1933), produced the first Superman animated series (1941-1942)
A pioneer in animated film, Fleischer produced a number of well-loved cartoons as the head of Fleischer Studios, and introduced technological innovations to the industry including Rotoscope and the "Bouncing Ball" animation for sing-a-long films.
