One-on-One Writing Support

What It Is: One-on-one writing and reading support geared to each individual learner.

Who Can Sign Up: Our one-on-one writing support meetings include individually-tailored writing curriculum to fit writers and thinkers of any age!

Where and How: Students work one-on-one with a Writing Associate in-person or through video conferencing. Each session is one hour and the curriculum is tailored to fit the needs of each individual student. Sessions generally include reading discussion, writing exercise, and writing feedback.

Who Are the Writing Associates: Our Writing Associates are experienced college teachers well versed in Cooper Union’s unique method. Writing Associates work one-on-one during the year with Cooper Union students in The Cooper Union Center for Writing, and they are familiar with supporting and challenging writers, readers and thinkers in a one-on-one setting.

Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
