Shiori Sasaki is a licensed architect and infrastructure professional whose work centers on geospatial technology, asset management, and the systems that shape the built environment. His experience spans architecture, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance, with a focus on how organizations use information, governance, and strategy to improve the way infrastructure is delivered and sustained. Prior to joining Esri, he supported historic preservation and resilience projects for NYC public agencies, including subway station rehabilitation at the MTA and later, capital planning and geospatial application development initiatives at the Port Authority of NY & NJ. These experiences strengthened his belief in the geographic approach – a way of seeing and understanding the world that brings together different domains of knowledge, grounds decisions in relationships between natural and built systems, and breaks down siloes by framing problems through their spatial, environmental, and social context.

At Esri, Shiori serves as an Industry Consultant and Strategic Advisor, partnering with global AEC firms, infrastructure agencies, airports, and utilities to advance geospatial strategy, governance, and asset management maturity. His work focuses on helping organizations adopt enterprise GIS as a location-centric platform that strengthens operations, connects project delivery to lifecycle asset stewardship and resilience, and supports more transparent, data-informed decision making. He specializes in geospatial program governance, GIS/BIM integration, Digital Twin and digital delivery workflows, and geospatially enabling asset management for asset-intensive organizations. Shiori is a registered architect in New York and Colorado and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union and a Master of Science in Construction Management from NYU Tandon School of Engineering.

Sue Ferguson Gussow is a figurative painter working in a wide range of drawing and painting media. She is Professor Emerita at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture of The Cooper Union where she teaches the Advanced Drawing Seminar. She has taught, lectured, or served as visiting critic at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, Cornell, Bennington, Maryland Art Institute, Pratt Institute, RISD, Parsons School of Design, Tulane University, New York University, Alfred University, University of Pennsylvania, the Frick Collection, Stony Brook University, the Royal Danish Academy School of Architecture (Copenhagen, Denmark), the Aarhus School of Architecture (Aarhus, Denmark), and the EPFL School of Architecture (Lausanne, Switzerland). 
 
Numerous museums and collections hold her work, including the Brooklyn Museum; Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum; Dallas Museum of Fine Art; Seattle Art Museum; New Orleans Museum of Art; New Orleans Jazz Museum; Philadelphia Free Library; Frick Collection Archive; and the Museum of Modern Art lending collection. Her work is represented in the private collections of the CBS Building, Schuyler B. Chapin, Diana and David Rockefeller Jr., Mary Schmidt Campbell, Jane and Morley Safer, and the estates of Dore Ashton, Werner Kramarsky, Van Deren Coke, Carl Djerassi, Jeanette Rockefeller, Werner Muensterberger, and John Q. Hejduk. 
 
Her notable solo exhibitions include the New Orleans Museum of Art (1966); Stanford Museum (1983)—honoring her year at Stanford University as the Pamela Djerassi Visiting Artist (1982-83); a 40-year retrospective in the Arthur A. Houghton Jr. Gallery at The Cooper Union (1997)—reviewed in The New York Times by Paul Goldberger; and the Center for Contemporary Art (Bedminster, New Jersey, 2015)—reviewed in The Star Ledger by Dan Bischoff. Her most recent solo exhibit at Front Art Space (Manhattan, April 2017) was reviewed in LUXE by Barbara Stehle. A major exhibition of her work will be held in the Houghton Gallery in October 2023.
 
Gussow is the author of Draw Poker (The Cooper Union, 1997) and Architects Draw (Princeton Architectural Press, 2008). A second edition of Architects Draw (B/Gilbert Hansen, Copenhagen) is scheduled for publication in November 2023.
 
In 2017 Gussow was honored by alumni of The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, who endowed the Sue Ferguson Gussow Scholarship to be awarded to an architecture student annually.

John Vondracek is an award-winning Graphic Designer specializing in motion graphics, title design and identity. His work has been recognized by the AIGA, Art Director's Club, Type Director's Club, among other design annuals. His TV shows have won Emmys while his films have been official selections to the Sundance and Tribeca Film Festivals, garnered theatrical releases, a Peabody Award, and, most recently, the 2017 Academy Award (Best Feature Length Doc – "OJ:Made In America"). His work with Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd fame) on his worldwide tours for "Dark Side Of The Moon" and most recently, "The Wall" have been hailed as "A Staggering Masterpiece" by Rolling Stone Magazine. Vondracek is a regular consultant with Adobe Software, both for educational and professional disciplines, and was previously a jury member for I.D. Magazine's Interactive Design Annual. He is a founding principal of The String Theory in NYC. He received his BFA from Cooper Union.

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
