Goals

Compete in the IGVC event and conduct autonomous vehicles research at Cooper Union.

Issues Involved or Addressed

Platform for continued Autonomy Lab research. Research on the fast-growing field of autonomous vehicles. Research on the complex social and economic implications of autonomous vehicles.

Subteams

Perception, Drive-by-wire, Controls, SLAM, Hardware.

Methods & Technologies

ROS, perception/SLAM/path planning, controls, communications, safety analysis, microcontrollers, CAN bus, systems and embedded software engineering, general mechanical/electrical engineering. Strong communication skills and teamwork.

Preferred Interests, Preparation, Skills

1. Background/interest in autonomous vehicles and fast-moving team dynamics.

2. Experience with or willingness to learn ROS, perception/SLAM/path planning, controls, communications, safety analysis, microcontrollers, CAN bus, systems and embedded software engineering, Git, general mechanical/electrical engineering.

3. No prerequisite courses required, but AI/ML/etc are helpful for the technical team.
