Carlos Little is an artist and designer based in Hardwick, New Jersey. A graduate of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art with a Bachelor of Architecture, Little’s practice spans painting, drawing, sculpture, and architecture. His work explores the intersections of emotion, energy, and human history, with a focus on how architecture, destruction, and origins inform material and conceptual processes. Little’s paintings delve into the modulation of emotion through vibrant and deliberate use of color, while his drawings narrate unseen energy fields, often blurring the boundaries between observation, memory, and imagination. His sculptural work incorporates harvested architectural elements, reflecting his fascination with the histories embedded in physical structures. Throughout his career, Little has actively contributed to the New York art scene, curating and producing exhibitions in unconventional spaces, including active and inactive construction sites in downtown New York City. During this period, he transformed interiors, created site-specific works, and collaborated with other artists to produce exhibitions such as Pretty Vacant (2011) in Brooklyn, Bedlam (2010) in Manhattan, and Little & Furgason Presents (2008) at Art In General. These projects reflect his commitment to experimental and community-driven art practices. Little’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows nationally and internationally, including at the Knockdown Center in New York, Marta Gallery in Los Angeles and the Laholm Drawing Museum in Sweden. Notable solo exhibitions include Property is Theft (2016) at Senaspace in New York and Carlasso Littametti (2012) at Bridge Gallery in New York. His collaborations with other artists, including Bad Water Pavilion (2016) and Blunted Paranoia (2013), underscore his interest in collective processes and shared creative dialogues. Carlos Little’s artwork has been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, LA Times, and USA Today.
