Introduction to AutoCAD and Revit

This class will teach the fundamentals of AutoCAD independent of the edition. Even though the textbook and the version of Autocad that we will use is the latest, the instructor will emphasize the most basic commands that apply to recent as well as older versions of Autocad.

For the Introduction to AutoCAD we use the textbook Autodesk AutoCAD 2010 Fundamentals by Elise Moss, SDC publications. Participants in this class will be given access to Amazon Web Services to access the software for educational purposes.  

Topics will include:

  • Viewing and Plotting a drawing-Basic CAD drawing techniques
  • Understanding Layers- Creating Basic Geometry
  • Annotating a drawing with Text and Hatching
  • Drawing Accurately- Creating Selection Sets
  • Basic Editing Skills
  • Dimensioning a Drawing
