  • The Cooper Union Wi-Fi network is called: cooper.  Please contact itsupport@cooper.edu for the password.
  • After connecting to the wireless network, a browser window should open on your screen for you to authenticate to our Aruba server using your email username (your email address without ‘@cooper.edu’) and email password.
  • Your device should be "remembered" for 24 hours.   After 24 hours, you may need to log in again. If the browser window doesn’t appear automatically, you can go there directly by opening: https://captiveportal.cooper.edu in any web browser.

How to Use Office 365

Microsoft Teams

  • Teams is the communication platform of choice at Cooper, providing chat, call, and file storage and full integration with Office 365.

  • Zoom Professional accounts are available on a case-by-case basis for a limited number of administrators in cases where Teams will not suffice.  To request an account, please contact ITsupport@cooper.edu.

VPN for Administrative Staff

Administrative staff working remotely must connect to our VPN private network.   The password for this network is confidential and will be provided by your supervisor or by the Department of IT.

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • “My feelings, my desires, my hopes, embrace humanity throughout the world,” Peter Cooper proclaimed in a speech in 1853. He looked forward to a time when, “knowledge shall cover the earth as waters cover the great deep.”

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
