The School of Art at the Cooper Union invites applications and nominations for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with an emphasis in printmaking to begin August 2025.
Requirements: Candidates are required to have at least five years of college level studio teaching and national/international recognition. Qualified candidates should have familiarity with a broad range of printmaking techniques, both traditional and experimental, and a robust understanding of contemporary artmaking practices and materials, including a deep understanding of print-based modes of making. Applicants must demonstrate an ability and willingness to engage in the School of Art’s generalist curriculum, which entails teaching in the Foundation year as well as advanced courses and working with students and faculty across a range of disciplines. In addition, the Cooper Union School of Art seek applicants with a strong commitment to service to the institution, faculty governance and artistic research.
Teaching Obligations: School of Art faculty are expected to teach on average two courses each semester with nine credits of course release within the first six semesters.

Review of applications will begin January 5th, 2025, for optimal consideration. We plan to conduct Zoom interviews for selected candidates in January and February, with campus visits to follow in March. Starting salary range for Assistant Professors is $94,000 - $97,000.
