Miami Alumni Meet Up at Swampspace

Join the Cooper community for an alumni meetup in Miami at Swampspace, a gallery run by Lulu Sanchez A'16 and her family. The event will also be attended by Adriana Farmiga A'96, Dean of the School of Art and Yuri Masnyj A'98, Associate Dean of the School of Art.

Enjoy the exhibition on view at Swampspace, "Super Cooper: Alumni Take the Swamp," which features artwork by Cooper Union alumni who share a profound connection to both our school and the city of Miami. "Super Cooper" exhibits works created by each artist specifically for the show. Please see the flyer below for more information. 

The gallery space was designed by alumnus William Lane AR'82.

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.

  • Peter Cooper wanted his graduates to acquire the technical mastery and entrepreneurial skills, enrich their intellects and spark their creativity, and develop a sense of social justice that would translate into action.
