STEM Outreach: Meet Our Graduate, Sara Pardomuan
POSTED ON: January 22, 2026
Sara Pardomuan is a first-year student in the Albert Nerken School of Engineering and an alumna of STEM Outreach@Cooper, which she joined while a student at the Academy of Finance and Enterprise, a New York City public high school in Queens. We asked her about her experience as a student in STEM Outreach@Cooper and her current studies as a Cooper Union undergraduate.
What class or classes did you take in the Summer STEM program?
I was in 12th grade when I completed Cooper STEM courses including Mechanics & Electronics Unleashed, and Data Visualization. I was first welcomed to the STEM program as a Summer STEM student in 2023, when I took the Design and Drawing for Engineering course. After starting my academic journey at Cooper, I joined the team as a STEM Ambassador for the 2024-25 school year.
What was the best part of the STEM Outreach program for you?
I enjoyed how each course I took allowed me to address problems that I took interest in, while collaborating with peers. I was able to gain exposure to engineering, which ultimately led me to pursue engineering at Cooper.
What do you want to study as a Cooper Union undergraduate?
I am now studying Civil Engineering and aspire to become a structural engineer.
