Professor Savizky is elected as Chair-elect of the American Chemical Society (ACS), New York Section for the term January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The Chair-elect is responsible for coordinating and raising funds for the William H. Nichols Distinguished Symposium happening on Friday, April 12, 2019. Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
