This course is designed for individuals interested in acquiring and refining skills in ink drawing. The curriculum covers basic techniques with pen and brush. The lessons will cover from bold, expressive strokes and subtle, atmospheric washes to intricate cross-hatching and graphic line drawing. We will learn the strengths and weaknesses of ink drawing and how to control them to find delight in them.
Upon completion of the course, participants will possess a basic skill set to confidently do ink drawing.
Material list:
- Pad of smooth Bristol paper (at least) 9” x 12” in size. Expect to need about 4 sheets for the first class. Recommended item.
- Fine point erasable pen. Recommended item.
- Micron point pen .003 or .005. Recommended item.
- Waterproof black ink. Recommended item.
- Jumbo white correction pen. Recommended item.
- A set of brushes with a range of shapes and sizes (Ideally synthetic bristles and including size ranges from ⅛” to 1” ) Recommended item.
- 10-well paint tray 6-3/4” diameter or larger. Recommended item.
- Cup for water
