Don Blauweiss
Mr. Blauweiss is the Creative Director of Don Blauweiss Advertising & Design Inc. DBA&D is a marketing and creative boutique that assists companies in promoting their products or services through any form of marketing communications.
At the start of his career, Mr. Blauweiss worked as a graphic designer, achieving international recognition for his package designs. He became an advertising Art Director at Doyle Dane Bernbach and developed advertising campaigns for Volkswagon, El Al, Coffee of Colombia, Avis, VW, Lufthansa, Uniroyal, and others.
He then joined Ogilvy & Mather as Art Director/Producer for Mercedes Benz, and later joined Benton & Bowles as a Vice President, Associate Creative Director. In 1980, Mr. Blauweiss was Creative Director at Proctor & Gamble for business in Belgium, Holland and Germany. In 2011, Mr. Blauweiss and other members of the DDB creative team formed Senior Creative People, a creative consultancy with a focus on marketing to seniors by seniors.
In 1983, Mr. Blauweiss rejoined Doyle Dane Bernbach and in 1985, he became a Senior Vice President, Group Creative Director as the complete Doyle Dane Bernbach International Creative Team joined Saatchi & Saatchi. In 1987, Mr. Blauweiss founded Don Blauweiss Advertising & Design Inc.
Mr. Blauweiss has taught design and advertising concepts at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute and Cooper Union, and has served on the board of directors of The Foundation for the Advancement of Innovative Medicine Education Fund. Mr. Blauweiss received a BA in Art at Queens College in 1956 and a Bachelor of Fine Arts at The Cooper Union in 1961. He has served as President of The Cooper Union Alumni Association. He is a recipient of the President's Citation and was inducted in The Cooper Union Hall of Fame in 2009.
