Cooper Tau Beta Pi Chapter Holds Annual Induction Ceremony

The Cooper Union Tau Beta Pi (TBP) chapter held a memorable induction ceremony, welcoming the largest number of new inductees in the past five years. Tau Beta Pi, the oldest engineering honor society and second oldest collegiate honor society in the United States, continues to honor students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and unwavering personal and professional integrity in the field of engineering.
Among the attendees were Sandhiya Kannan, the TBP District 2 Director and Assistant professor of civil engineering, Hejintao Huang, a current TBP member. Following the ceremony, the chapter conducted elections to fill vacancies within the current board, including the selection of the 2025 President-elect who will assume leadership for the upcoming year.
The following students were inducted into the Cooper Union Tau Beta Pi chapter: Ahmed Alvee EE’26, Ryan Chen EE’26, Christopher Ge ChE’25, Kalvin Huang ChE’25, Lorina Ilkkan EE’25, Justin Koe EE’25, Gabriel Kret ME’26, Josef Kucher ME’26, Jonghyeok Kim EE’25, Shreyas Krishnan ME’25, Sophia Klymchuk ME’26, Jeremy Lugo ChE’25, Sonam Okuda ME’25, Jaehyeon Park ME’26, Muhammad Rashid CE’25, Justin Tung ChE’25, Ruifeng Wu CE’26, and Andrew Yuan EE’26.
Tau Beta Pi was founded with the mission to recognize engineering students who have earned distinguished scholarships and demonstrated exemplary character. It is dedicated to fostering a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges, furthering the academic and ethical standards in the engineering profession.
