Cooper Students Compete in 2017 ACM Programming Contest

Engineering students Ehit Agarwal (EE), Andrey Akhmetov (EE), Joey Berkovits (EE), George Ho (BSE), Richard Lee (EE), Gordon Macshane (EE), Daniel Nakhimovich (EE), Jonathan Pedoeem (EE), and Benjamin Sterling (EE) participated in the ACM Regional Programming Contest on Sunday, November 26th. Professor Carl Sable coached the teams. Fifty teams representing twenty schools competed to solve as many programming problems as possible within a five and a half hour period. Professor Chris Lent has served as a competition judge for many years. For the first time in the history of the contest, there was no central host but rather several satellite locations. Cooper Union students competed from Manhattan College. One Cooper Union team placed tenth out of the fifty participating teams.
