Job Description
The Kanbar Center for Biomedical Engineering at the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art announces a new postdoctoral fellowship in Computational Biofluid Dynamics. The fellow will develop new image-based models of the deforming upper airway of children with obstructive sleep apnea, taking advantage of novel dynamic MR imaging methods and image processing tools, in collaboration with Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Dr. Raanan Arens) and the University of Pennsylvania’s Medical Image Processing Group (Dr. Jayaram Udupa). The fellowship is funded by a grant from the National Institutes of Health, and is renewable for up to 4 years. Salary to be negotiated; position includes medical and retirement benefits.
Qualifications
A PhD or equivalent in Mechanical, Biomedical, Chemical or Aerospace engineering, with research experience and peer-reviewed publications in computational fluid dynamics, computational mechanics, or fluid-structure interaction models. Preferred candidates will have research experience in bioengineering applications and image-based modeling.
