Manager of Applications Support

This position is part of the Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Applications and Support team, which together with the entire IT organization, provides service focused solutions that advance Cooper’s mission by protecting its information, and providing IT solutions that enhance teaching, learning, productivity, and collaboration. The Manager of Applications Support is responsible for ownership and support of enterprise applications, including TouchNet, Moodle and 25Live and Business Analytics and reporting. The Manager of Applications Support reports directly to the Senior Director of Enterprise Applications and Support.



  • Ownership and support for TouchNet, Moodle, 25Live applications
  • Coordination and maintenance of security and permissions across campus systems including:
    • Colleague/WebAdvisor/Self Service
    • Active Directory/email
    • Moodle
    • 25live
    • Touchnet
  • Tier 2 and 3 support for Colleague including:
    • Troubleshooting functional tasks for departments (e.g., investigating registration issues, finance posting issues, financial aid awarding issues, billing/invoicing etc.)
    • Coordination with vendors if internal solutions are not found
  • Business analytics and reporting


  • Experience with visualization and data prep, complex enterprise class data and reporting from ERP applications
  • Strong demonstrated Data Analytics experience across multiple Information Management, Data Management, Analytics, Business Intelligence and Visualization toolsets (including Business Objects, Alteryx, Redshift, Tableau, Power BI, etc)
  • Demonstrated understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Database and ETL tools
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based technology and analytics platforms (including Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.)


  • Bachelor’s degree in data/computer science, business information management systems or related field
  • A minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology Management and analytics-focused job
  • Strong Microsoft Word/Excel skills
  • Experience in ticket/issue systems (JIRA, ServiceNow, BMC, Kace )
  • Experience in procurement and vendor/contract relations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical staff
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks and activities, establish priorities and provide appropriate feedback on project statuses


  • Assist in developing long-term strategies and Cooper Union application support needs
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of application service contracts
