Drawing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
The fundamentals of observational drawing are taught on-site at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The building itself, along with the artworks, objects, and people it contain are all possible subjects for study. Basic concepts related to perspective, gesture, contour, value, and mass, are introduced and worked through in five sessions. These principles are introduced to students individually and in respect to their own stage of development. The class is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as those with previous drawing experience. Students are responsible for a museum admission fee of $5 for each session.
