Branding with Type Workshop
Use your senses as inspiration for a typographic brand. You will develop a branding system for own line of ice cream concoctions. Create a menu of visual elements and apply them to a unique product line. Use typography, color, and graphic elements to express a range of sensory experiences (taste, texture, aroma, temperature, crunch, etc). Co-sponsored with Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, this workshop draws inspiration from the exhibition The Senses: Design Beyond Vision, on view at the museum through October 28, 2018. This one-day course is a great way to spark your creativity, find new inspiration, and create a chill portfolio piece. Participants receive copies of Ellen Lupton’s latest books from Cooper Hewitt, Design Is Storytelling and The Senses.
This class is created for designers and students with a grasp of the basics and a desire to flex (or loosen up) their typographic muscles. We will be working in Adobe InDesign and/or Illustrator; a recent version (CS4 or later) of one or both applications is required.
