Modeling and Visualization

This course prepares students to create quality visualizations from 3D modeling and photography. Students will learn the basics of modeling in Rhinoceros and several techniques of representation including, rendering perspective images, inserting models in context, creating visual environments in Photoshop, lighting scenes, and using photogrammetry. The course is designed to foster autonomy in producing imagery and communicating one’s ideas visually. Students will be provided time to work on in-class exercises with guidance from the instructor.
No prior knowledge of computer software is required for the class although students with prior 3D modeling experience are encouraged to take this course. In this class students will use Rhinoceros, V-ray, Grasshopper and Photoshop. Trial versions of these software are available online.
Meets Weekly: Thursdays 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m
Students MUST enroll 5 business days prior to the course start date. Registration will start on Thursday, January 3rd.
