Gail Buckland is author of eight books of photographic history, including Fox Talbot and the Invention of Photography, The Magic Image (with Cecil Beaton), Reality Recorded: Early Documentary Photography, The American Century (with Harold Evans) and Making America. She is former Curator of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and guest curator at numerous American museums.
