Louis Katsos
Assistant Professor
Professor Katsos received his Masters Degree from the Graduate Business School of New York University and a B.E.C. E. (in Civil Engineering) from New York University. Professor Katsos teaches ARCH 143, Construction Management.
From 1973 to 1984, Professor Katsos held positions at the Diesel Construction Company, Tern Construction Company and Morse/Diesel as Vice President. His projects included the reconstruction of Yankee Stadium, Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center Plaza, Hebrew Union College, Park Avenue Synagogue, The Tombs, Ramaz High School, Jewish Theological Seminary, N.Y.U Graduate Residence Hall, and numerous Pace University buildings. From 1984 to 1992 he was a Corporate Executive and eventually the Executive Vice President and C.O.O. of Tishman Construction Corporation of New York, and served as Project Executive on numerous projects including the Jewish Museum, New York Public Library Expansion, The Dupont Plaza Hotel, the Four Seasons Hotel, The Broadway Crowne Plaza, the current London Hotel, and Zeckendorf Towers. He was the E.V.P/C.O.O. of Santa Fe Construction, Inc. from 1992 to 1995. During that time, the company expanded to become one of the top 100 construction management firms in the United States. From 1995 to 1999, he was E.V.P/C.O.O. of Trataros Construction, at the time, the largest public works General Contractor in New York. His projects included the reconstruction of the historic U.S. Courthouse in Old San Juan, Grand Central Subway Reconstruction, and the new Baruch College Building. He was president of Santa Fe Construction from 1999 to 2001, at the time the largest minority CM firm in New York, and his projects included the new Queens Hospital as well as numerous N.Y.C. School Construction Authority projects. He is presently the President and Owner of Jekmar Associates, Inc., providing consulting services during the pre-construction and construction phases to builders, owners and developers. His recent projects include the W New York Downtown Hotel/Residences, The Times Square Hotel, 605 W. 42nd Street and 113 Nassau Street.
Louis is also the Executive Managing Director of the NYI Fund an EB-5 investment Firm. He is an AIA and ASCE Associate Member and on the Board of both the Greater Harlem and the Hellenic American, Chambers of Commerce.
