Cooper Union commemorates the 150th Anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's
"Right Makes Might" speech in the same room and from the same lectern he
used in 1860. The speech, along with the Brady photograph taken the same
day, propelled Lincoln to the Presidency. The event is the concluding
program in the Great Evenings in The Great Hall series that began in April
2009 as a celebration of The Cooper Union's 150th anniversary.
Noted Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer (author of Lincoln at Cooper Union)
will narrate the evening. Selections of the speech will be read by

Chalfant (Angels in America, Wit,) Tony, Obie, and Drama-Desk honoree André
DeShields (The Wiz, The Full Monte,) Oscar-winner Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws,
The Goodbye Girl, Close Encounters of the Third Kind,American Graffiti)
and Broadway and film actor Stephen Lang (Avatar).
