Great Evenings in the Great Hall: Art and Literature

A celebration of Cooper Union's 150th anniversary.
Salman Rushdie, Olympia Dukakis, Siri Hustvedt, Isaiah Sheffer and Tony Kushner in an homage to the influential authors and musicians whose works have enriched our souls and transformed our culture.

Tony Kushner, Siri Hustvedt and Salman Rushdie will read from their own works. Olympic Dukakis will read poetry of W.H. Auden and Isaiah Sheffer will read Mark Twain's "The Sandwich Islands" which Twain originally read in The Great Hall in 1867. The acclaimed cabaret duo of Lou Rosen and Capathia Jenkins will perform. Free and open to the public.
