41 Cooper Square is the linchpin in The Cooper Union's plan to assure academic excellence and financial security well into the 21st century.  Since 2000, the Building Fund has supported the construction of this pedagogically and technologically advanced academic building, along with modifications to the landmark Foundation Building. Pritzker Prize-winning architect Thom Mayne and his firm Morphosis, with associate architects Gruzen Samton, designed the new nine-story building, which houses the Albert Nerkin School of Engineering, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and some facilities of the Irwin S. School of Architecture and School of Art.  The building features green design, flexible space that can be reconfigured as technology and pedagogy evolve, and exceptional classrooms, laboratories, studios and student spaces. The building was finished in September 2009. The Cooper Union gratefully acknowledges the generous donors who contributed to the Building Fund in FY 2010.
