Seth Cameron's (1982, South Carolina) is a painter and writer.
Since 2001, Cameron has co-authored The Bruce High Quality Foundation, a fictional artist collective that has satirized the art world with zombie movies, musical revivals, public art interventions, open-call biennials and artificial museum collections. Cameron was director of the collective's free experimental art school, BHQFU, for its duration from 2009-2017. The Foundation has been included in the Whitney Biennial (2010), Greater New York (2010), the Lyon Bienniale (2013) and held a retrospective at The Brooklyn Museum (2013).
Cameron's 'No' paintings, based on absolute middle gray, use desaturated simultaneously contrasting color and symmetry to refute themselves into existence. Recent exhibitions include No Paintings at Nathalie Karg Gallery (2017, NYC), Suns at Susan Inglett Gallery (2016, NYC) and Measure for Measure at Nina Johnson Gallery (2016, Miami).
His recent essays and reviews have appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, The Miami Rail, Due Weekly (The Architectural Association) and WVWVWVWV.
