Safety and Environmental Policy

It is the goal of The Cooper Union and its employees to ensure that all our programs protect and promote the health and safety of our employees, visitors, and the environment.To achieve this goal, The Cooper Union is committed to complying with all applicable safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards.The Cooper Union will strive to protect and enhance the environment by pursuing environmental sustainability initiatives.

All employees are responsible for reporting unsafe practices or conditions to management.These can be reported to management without fear of reprisal.


  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.
